What I like about this course is that at the end of the every week, there'll be a guest speaker to come to talk to us about their job experiences and advice they can give us. There's also a Q&A session after, which really gives us the opportunity to ask any burning questions in our minds. We get buyers, authors, marketing managers to talk to us and it's really inspirational. I try my best to listen during the time they're speaking despite having had an exhausting week. Today was the worst because I had such a bad hangover, and my stomach felt really unsettled.
So far we've had Jane Sheperdson who is chief executive of Whistles (a few years ago she was the buyer of Topshop) OMG IKR, Mark Tungate; British author who lives in France, Hilda Jenkins, Jo Wiggins from ASOS marketplace and today we had 3 Fashion Management Alumni (hey seniors). One's a womenswear buyer at Liberty department store, another has her own business label and the 3rd alumni is a marketing manager at Moss Bros. It's really interesting to hear their stories of how they got to where they were and what difficulties they faced and how they got through it all. I hope I'll have experiences to share and a story of my own to tell one day too.
