I realised my knowledge of the 80s music was pretty little after my visit to Wala a month back, so I decided to check out Vh1's top 100 songs of the 80s. It took me a few days to listen to all 100 songs on Youtube and I specially created an 80s playlist for when I'm in the mood to be brought to the 80s. Turns out I only favourited and added 20 songs to it. Here they are..
Def Leppard- Pour some sugar on me
Guns N' Roses- Sweet child O' mine
Van Halen- Jump
Whitesnake- Here I go again
A-ha- Take on me
Wham!- Wake me up before you go-go
Queen- Under Pressure
Modern English- I melt with you
Bananarama- Cruel Summer
The Police- Every breath you take
Twisted Sister- We're not gonna take it
Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams (are made of this)
Dead or Alive- You spin me round (like a record)
Bonnie Tyler- Total Eclipse of the Heart
Berlin- Take my breath away
Foreigner- I want to know what love is
George Michael- Faith
Bow wow wow- I want Candy
Rufus and Chaka Khan- Ain't Nobody
Katrina and the Waves- Walking on sunshine
As much as I enjoy listening to these tracks, I'm glad I was not born in the 80s. I mean.. sure many inspirational musicians were hits in the 80s, but in the world of fashion; legwarmers, parachute pants and units.
I think I'll pass.
