I am the luckiest intern ever

Yesterday was my last day of internship at CLEO and we spent the last 2 days packing beauty products for the annual CLEO Beauty Awards.

It was done in the meeting room.

These were boxes of the some of the samples given by the clients.

The mess we created when everything was packed into their respective categories to be put in large boxes which would be mailed to the judges.

There was a lot of heavy lifting going on and I'm surprised I survived the entire 2 days. It was pretty tiring but I had a lot of fun :) Being able to check out every type of beauty product from every brand? Hell yeah. From make up base, to body moisturisers, to hairsprays and scents and not forgetting, MAKE UP COSMETICS. My favourite!

The Beauty Editor was one of the 5 judges and there're about 100 categories so the products were split among the entire CLEO team. (Can you imagine ONE person having to judge everything???) Huda and I took home about 15 categories EACH.

I had to hand-carry 3 big bags of products back home and they approximately weighed 10KG!

I'm happy with the categories I chose..

There're so many types of products, you wouldn't even believe it till you saw them. I can't believe I get to review these items and pick the best one! Gonna take this task very seriously, especially since I love using such products. It's a girl thing..

There's Dior, Estee Lauder, Kose, Shiseido.. etc. The list goes on. It's kinda crazy how many brands are out there. I've never even heard of some names.

It's like CHRISTMAS!! No, better. This is excluding the amount of cosmetics I actually own before I was given these freebies.

And yes I do get to keep these samples after I've chosen the best of each category.

Obviously, I can't possible use them up all by myself so imma give some away after I've tried all.

I'm so happy to have interned at CLEO! This was a great way to end my month long unpaid internship.

Technically, I'm being paid in products? These are probably worth more than $1.5k.

I felt like I was in heaven when the editor was distributing the products to us. I had NO IDEA I would be able to help judge! I only knew I would be packing the items.

Interning at CLEO has definitely been an experience. I knew I'd be able to see how a magazine is run and maybe help out at shoots, but I had no idea there would be so many freebies! I went in thinking I would have none, maybe just leave with a testimonial for future purposes. Thank God I picked the right month to intern as there was the biggest event of the year (which was held at Zouk 3 weeks ago) which I got to attend and now, help out with the CLEO annual Beauty Awards.
