I'm finally here!! In central London :D. The place is gorgeous and so different from Singapore. I still can't believe I'm gonna study HERE, in a whole new environment. The thought of not going back for almost a year scares me. Leaving all my good friends and family back home was not easy at all. At the airport, I kept it together throughout the goodbyes until everyone was out of sight before I unexpectedly bawled my eyes out before boarding (some parts during the plane ride too). A kind lady handed me a piece of tissue.
Anyway, was lucky to have a driver fetch me from the airport right to the door step of my student accommodation. This service was provided by my University :). Ida came over to my place before we headed out for dinner at a bar/bistro nearby. Was soooooo happy to see her!!
I took this photo of a row of houses near my place today, I think brick houses are just gorgeous.
I found my way around the tube and met Ida at Stratford to shop at the biggest mall in Europe. The first stop was Primark and an hour later I walked out with two huge paper bags. Did not want to shop more cos a) I just spent $200, and b) I have zero arm power and to me the bags were SO heavy. The mall was huge and apparently we only covered 1/8 of the entire place. Oh well, there's always next time.
Pretty Ida :)
At the Marks and Spencer Cafe. That's me with my huge ass paper bags. I didn't even go all crazy on shopping, I bought necessities (really)! Like bath rug, pillow casing, and warm clothing (cos I come from the equator so I have very few) and SHOES. A fashion student needs many school shoes.
