Here's a delayed photo post on my trip to Santorini. This was by far one of my best holidays ever. It was probably more enjoyable as well because the weather in Greece was so good compared to London which was getting colder. It's also due to the fact that I've been spending my entire summer at my job placement at Hudson Shoes, therefore time off is more appreciated.
We went to Santorini for 8 days. This holiday was booked through Olympic Holidays and we wanted a room with a sea view.
Dinner at Vanilla Restaurant in Firostefani. Meal was okay, not as great as people think.
A must-try starter in Greece: Tomato balls
We stayed in a town close to Fira, the capital of Santorini, called Imerovigli. It's such a lovely place with so many Villas. And all the villas had a seafront view. We stayed in Vinsanto Villas and there was a pool at the reception, not outside our rooms. However, we got to have our own private balcony with sunbeds and a breakfast table overlooking the sea. Scrambled eggs, bacon and basically whatever you ordered the previous evening were brought to our doorstep every morning. It was lovely.
We sunbathed almost every day and had a glass of homemade Pimm's while we enjoyed the view.
The restaurant Argo was really good. This was recommended by the hotel receptionist and it was one of the best meals I had on the island. Service was exceptionally good too.
On day 3, we took a boat tour our to the volcanic islands, and we had to jump off the boat at one point to swim to the hot springs.
Stopover at Thirassia island for lunch.
At the start of our 2.5 hour hike from Imerovigli to Oia. The hike to the southern tip of the island was tiring but the view made it so much easier.
Exploring Oia.
The view from our table at Petros Fish Tavern.
An afternoon of sunbathing before we went to Fira town to hike up 586 steps. That was one of the most tiring activities we did on this holiday. The footpath STANK of donkey poop, it wasn't pretty.
Gyros everyday!
The hike up Old Port.
The smell was unbearable.
Exploring the prehistoric town of Akrotiris.
We wandered along the coast and found a cute little restaurant to have some Greek salad and fish for lunch. Plans to go to Kamari Beach fell through and we took a boat to Black beach instead.
We finally had time to visit Kamari beach on our last evening, and it was really close by to the open air cinema where we watched Magic in the Moonlight, a film by Woody Allen, starring Colin Firth and Emma Stone.
Photo snaps from my iphone:
The wind was great.

Our daily breakfast. I looked forward to this every morning.
This holiday was one of my best yet. I'm missing Greece so much at the moment.
