It's been a week since I came back from a 3-day trip to Penang, Malaysia with a few of my friends from JC. We flew there on JetStar and the flight was only 1.5 hours. Mainly, the trip contained as eating as our main itinerary. We stayed in the heart of Georgetown (New Asia Heritage Hotel) and I would recommend it because it close to many famous food places and bakeries. It's rather easy to navigate around the area as well. If you're not fussy about accommodation and just need a decent place with bed, towels and a clean toilet, then New Asia is a good and affordable place to consider.
If we had more time and money, we would've added massage and more shopping in our to-do list. Initially, I planned on parasailing by the beach but after some research online & way too many articles about injury incidents along Penang beach/ weak safety regulations, I decided not to risk it.
Red Garden food centre was just a 15 min walk from the hotel and it has such a wide variety of food. This was the place where I tasted the best oyster omelette in the whole world. We went back here the next day during supper just to get more of that omelette.
Pepper biscuits, egg tarts and tau sar piah were just some of the snacks we bought home for friends & family!
Sunset along Batu Ferringhi beach.
Best oyster omelette to date.
Our breakfast Dim Sum was mediocre, unfortunately.
