Earlier this week we spent the entire day at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We purposely checked into a motel which was only a 15min drive to the theme park so that we could head there first thing in the morning. I personally love riding on roller coasters and I enjoyed sitting on the fastest roller coaster in the world in Abu Dhabi's Ferrari World back in 2009. However, Magic Mountain is full of thrill rides that spin you around and take you at fast speeds so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I was particularly scared of taking the ride Goliath after watching the video (first vid below). Initially, I planned on going to Universal Studios Hollywood but after having such an amazing time at Magic Mountain, I'm sure we made the right choice!

The first drop is the scariest. Goliath wasn't as bad as I psyched myself to be. I'm still not a fan of drops and weightlessness. I find that I look forward more to rides which go extremely fast and take me upside down! Love those.
Apart from Goliath, the other thrill rides we took were
Apocalypse
Batman the ride
Full Throttle (Just opened earlier this year and it was the last ride we took)
Green Lantern (Least favourite)
Ninja
Revolution
Scream (One of my favs, you get to turn upside down SEVEN times!)
Superman (Drops you like a hot potato. No)
Tatsu (One of my favs as well! You get to fly lying down)
The Riddler's Revenge (Amazing)
Viper
X2 (First ride we took, another one of my favs)
Full list here.
Because we bought the Gold Pass on top of our ticket, we didn't have to waste time standing in the long queue, instead we were given a little remote to reserve our seats and it was buzz when our seats were ready. This saved us so much time! Definitely worth buying if you hate queueing up in the hot sun and there are too many rides to try in such a limited period of time.
The green lantern was my least favourite. Here's why; I'm fine with spinning around and all that but for this ride, 90% of the time I have no clue where I'm going or what's going to happen next. And basically, this just tosses you around. After the ride ended, we were just like: WTF just happened. It was honestly quite hilarious but I don't think I'll take this again. I wanna sit on something that makes me feel like I'm flying. Watch the video (off-ride) of the Green Lantern below.
The next day after this intense Magic Mountain experience, my neck was sore from all that roller-coaster rides. I can't believe that in the span of 10 hours, we were able to sit 13 thrill roller coasters and 2 water rides. There are only 3 water rides in the park and I wouldn't say that they are worth queuing up for. I only took them to cool me down from the hot sun. Roaring rapids is lame, I just got soaking wet from the waist down. Tidal wave was pretty fun and I didn't get to try Jet stream. Oh well.
Anyway, I think that's enough roller-coasters for now. I had a fantastic time screaming my lungs out.
