Being an intern at Cleo magazine was definitely an experience. A few months ago, I swore to myself that I would NEVER ever take up an unpaid internship cos it just wasn't worth it to me. I was so against free labour. But I realised that experience is more important than anything and since Cleo allows interns to work for just a month, I decided to write in.
Spent my mornings in March waking up early and was one of those people you see squeezing into closing MRT doors, rushing to get to the office by 9am.
The first week of internship was pretty.. editorial. Had to assist the editors in doing research about particular topics, and was stuck in the office all week and didn't get a chance to go out to run errands.
Thankfully, things started to get interesting.
Had to chance to help out at 2 photoshoots. The first one was the sports photoshoot. Photos unavailable.

Floral photoshoot for the May 2012 issue..
Meet the Ukraine model! She looks stunning in the photos. I didn't even think editing was needed!
Fashion interns do A LOT of packing..
and I mean A LOT
Huda and I spent most of our time going around town with these huge ass luggage while sourcing/returning loans. My arms were sore for the entire week.
I'm extremely glad that I chose the perfect month of the year to intern at CLEO, I got to attend the biggest event of the year for the magazine: Bachelor's finals party at Zouk!

It was Steph's last day that night, I was so sad to see her leave cos she's been so much fun to hang out and work with.

Citigems sent a box of cupcakes to the Fashion Editor but she didn't want em, so we took them.
They were.. ok. Can't beat those I've tried in New York for sure.

Product shoots look fun (at first), but I dreaded it the most. I would rather go out sourcing and carry big heavy bags around Orchard Road than spend an entire day pinning clothes onto a styrofoam board in the studio.
I attempted to take some shots, but the 'lighting wasn't right', it was 'too bright', and I should've taken 3 shots at once cos that's called 'bracketing'. Being a photographer is not my calling in life.
Got to help out with the Annual CLEO Beauty Awards. Again, chose the BEST month to intern!
Steph started her new job as a Cosmo intern!
I call this an 'organised clutter'
Some videos taken with my really lousy Blackberry.
I got to bring home TEN KILOGRAMS worth of make-up. Luckiest bitch that day.
Since I bleached my hair 3 times last month, I really needed those products like leave-in conditioners. So far, Shisedo and Loreal are my favourites :)

No regrets whatsoever in signing up for this. My March was well spent and so far my April has been.. dull (sad to say this). But things are about to pick up since I'm going to Abu Dhabi in a few days. Can't wait to tan at the rooftop and lay by the pool.
