Amsterdam: Finger lickin' food

Dutch fries are by far the best thing I've ever tasted in my whole life. Maybe because they're done the same way as Belgium fries. I absolutely love it! Tried those from Manneken Pis along Damrak, covered with dutch mayo which tasted just like regular mayo. We could've been slightly more adventurous and try another of the various sauces available!

Wasn't keen on museums and art on this trip but went to Van Gogh's digital 3D exhibition anyway and I guess it was pretty good! Some paintings were amazing, to be honest. The thought of visiting a museum is always more fulfilling than the actual visit to the exhibition. This is just how I feel. The exhibition was located right opposite Manneken Pis.

Albert Cuyp Market was much talked about as a tourist destination and I was not that impressed. They look pretty similar to those markets in London (East Street Market) except that Albert Cuyp sold Dutch food which looked way better. We tried to famous raw herring for the first time and I honestly loved it! The pickles and onions complemented the taste of the herring. As a sashimi lover, I highly recommend the raw herring. At least try a piece when you're in Amsterdam even if you're not a fan of raw food.

Stroopwafels are majorly overpriced at food markets and anywhere else besides the supermarkets, so I'd suggest you just buy the exact same thing from the local supermarkets (less than 1euro)

Noticed an amazing restaurant along the same street as our hostel. All-you-can-eat ribs for just 14euros! *salivates* And it comes with salad (healthy) and FRIES (that goes without saying). We managed to finish all of that plus another rack of ribs. Teddy's corner is a must go if you want tender and juicy ribs for cheap. It's just a street away from the red light district.

Tried a Cannoli sleeve for the first time from a cafe just 2 doors from our hostel. It looks interesting enough to try, but to be honest, it wasn't that fantastic! Still prefer the traditional ice cream cone.

Stuffed with caramel stroopwafel flavour.

As we were walking out of Central Amsterdam towards Vondelpark, a little finger food was necessary! More fries but with joppiesaus this time. This snack sauce can be found in many supermarkets across the Netherlands and Belgium. I hope there'll be some in Tesco here in London but I doubt so.
